WOW! Have we been having nice weather. Good weather to get out and start gardening. Many things can be planted now, including the cool weather crops such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi, brussels sprouts and onions. We have all of these vegetables at both stores for you to purchase. We will be getting in all of the rest of the garden vegetables very soon, but remember, May 15th is our average last frost so we need to wait just a little yet before we plant these outside.

What's blooming right now? Well a drive anywhere will be a feast for the eyes as crabapple trees, red bud trees, lilacs, magnolia, viburnum, flowering quince, bleeding hearts and creeping phlox are in beautiful full bloom. We also have all of these plants ready for purchase at both stores. And remember, if you need to trim up any kind of flowering bush or tree, trim it right after it is done blooming as it will start to set buds for next year at that time.

Just to let you know, we are celebrating Arbor Day for the whole next week. Our sale is 10% off all container shade and ornamental trees. We have a great selection from which to choose. There are new herbs and perennials that have arrived along with trees and shrubs. We also have fruit trees and small fruit plants ready to purchase.

With all of these fruits and vegetables ready to plant my mind is whirling with all of the good recipes I can whip up and my mouth is watering!!

Happy Gardening from New Leaf!
